Prayer Circles

Next Prayer Circle: Weds. Sept. 27, 10:00am
Our Prayer Circles have been a big success for our small congregation. A group has been faithfully gathering in the Lord's name on Wednesday mornings, twice each month, for coffee and bagels, meaningful conversation, scriptures and prayer. These sessions are not only a mid-week opportunity for us to experience a sense of community, but also a time to share thoughts and concerns about spirituality and the world. Our prayers circles continue on Wednesday mornings at 10:00am in the Redeemer chapel with a new DVD series entitled "We Must Plant the Church" which will focus on the history of Lutherans in America. Come join us for this educational program as well as prayer, refreshments and good conversation. (Next dates: Oct. 18; Nov. 1, 15; Dec. 6.)

Rick Steves' "Luther and The Reformation"

The 500th anniversary of the Reformation is upon us! This is not only a time for reflection on the rich history of this church, but also a chance to look forward to what lies ahead. It’s an exciting time to be Lutheran as we come together with the Roman Catholic Church on the foundation of our common heritage.

Rick Steves, renowned travel expert and author (as well an ELCA Lutheran) was generously provided all ELCA-affiliated congregations with a copy of his new, excellent presentation “Luther and the Reformation” on DVD. This is a wonderful resource to help us better understand our Lutheran roots and aid in our continued journey of understanding the Gospel. On Reformation Sunday, October 29, 2017, our church is planning to have a screening of this program at 210 Orchard Ridge Road, Chappaqua. Click below to view a 60-second promo of Rick Steves' main program "Luther & the Reformation":

Five hundred years ago, Martin Luther kicked off the Protestant Reformation, which contributed to the birth of our modern age. In this one-hour special - filmed on location in Europe - Rick Steves tells the story of a humble monk who lived a dramatic life.
Our annual church picnic on September 11, 2016 at Gedney Park, Millwood was a wonderful, warm event. many of us were wearing our special "lutheran since 1517" T-shirts! We thank all our friends who joined us for a beautiful day in the park.
